YOGA COURSE 2011 - April 29 till May 2

    WHAT THE WEEKEND IS ABOUT...

This early spring course is a delightful mixture of daily yoga and meditation sessions, and learning about simple and healthy food, all while experiencing a true taste of the Languedoc...

The yoga and meditation sessions take place in a bright and airy attic studio and will be led by Clare McGrath who is a graduate of the Yoga Alliance Teacher Training course with the Himalaya Yoga Valley Centre in Goa, India.

Clare's classes are a blend of Ashtanga yoga and Vinyasa Flow Yoga. They will be energetic, synchronising movement and breath in fluid motion, balanced with meditation and relaxation. Her hope is that yoga's spiritual and physical health benefits will help pupils achieve inner balance. The classes are suitable for all levels of practicioners.

Besides the yoga and meditation there will be walks along the beautiful Canal du Midi and/or the Mediterranean, a visit to Narbonne's famous food market, cathedral and shops (with lunch in a city-centre restaurant afterwards), various excursions to artisan food producers, a waterside picnic and a visit to the Medieval Citadel of Carcassonne for some sightseeing and lunch.

The cookery demonstrations are held in a professional demonstration kitchen and we shall concentrate on healthy, easy to prepare food - recipes of which you will bring home in a folder.

    Itinerary

DAY 1 FRIDAY - pick-up from the airport and straight onto a goatfarm to watch the cheese-making process and taste their superb cheeses. A second visit to an organic beekeeper to taste their wonderful range of honeys... At home there is time for a welcome meeting and for settling in, before a restorative Yoga Class, after which it is time for dinner.

DAY 3 SUNDAY - after an early morning meditation followed by breakfast we will visit a typical French vide-grenier (a sort of car-boot sale but much nicer) where you may well find something precious to bring home. At 11.00am this there is a Yoga Asana class after which we'll head for the Canal du Midi for our waterside pique-nique. The afternoon is free to do what you want (perhaps an invigorating walk along the Canal du Midi?) followed by another cookery demonstration before our final dinner.

DAY 4 MONDAY - we start with another morning meditation (this time outdoors followed by breakfast... Then we leave for the Medieval Citadel of Carcassonne for a bit of culture and to explore the shops and have lunch. After this it will be time to return to the airport for your flight home.
